What We Do
Imagine leaving school on Friday afternoon and not having anything to eat until Monday morning. This is a reality for some of the children in our schools. We provide food every weekend to children who are identified as ‘food insecure’ by teachers and guidance counselors at each school. The bags contain kid-friendly food for six weekend meals, and snacks. At North East Wake Backpack Buddies, we are distributing approximately 2000 bags of food to schools in our region every month.
March was a big month for us.
